Rhode Island Venues Celebrate Bee’s Knees Week

Venues across the state of Rhode Island celebrated Bee’s Knees Week Sept. 18-27, an annual initiative spearheaded by Caledonia Spirits of Vermont. Each year, bars and restaurant’s create Bee’s Knees cocktails featuring the company’s Barr Hill Gin, which is made with raw northern honey. For each cocktail sold, Caledonia Spirits gave donations to initiatives aimed toward the protection and preservation of honeybees. This year, in lieu of monetary donations, Caledonia Spirits committed to donate 10 square feet of bee habitat for every photo of a Barr Hill Bee’s Knees cocktail shared on social media with the hashtag #beeskneesweek2020, tagging @barrhillgin. Bars, restaurants and, for the first time this year, individuals from their homes were invited to create their own Bee’s Knees cocktails. Participating venues and retailers whose cocktail photos account for a square footage that equals or exceeds their location’s footprint received a special gift from the distillery.
